Divorce & Child Custody ($200/hour or flat fee)

Achieving your goals in a Utah divorce, child custody case, or modification shouldn’t mean emptying your wallet. Our $200 hourly rate is reasonable and affordable. We usually only need a $3,000 retainer deposit to handle your case. We can also offer fixed flat fee arrangements on most cases. Any unused retainer funds are refundable. We keep our costs low so we can provide the one-on-one attention with an experienced Utah family law attorney every client deserves.

Uncontested Divorce & Custody ($750 flat fee + costs)

Fair Price Lawyers will handle most uncontested Utah divorces, child custody cases, and modifications for $750 plus costs. Usually, the only cost is a $333 filing fee we must pay to the court clerk.

Prenups & Postnups ($500 flat fee)

Fair Price Lawyers will draft a custom prenuptial or postnuptial agreement for clients for a flat fee of $500.

Enforce Court Order ($200/hour)

Has the other party in your case violated the court's order? Fair Price Lawyers will file a motion to enforce a Utah court order on your behalf and argue the motion at a hearing. Such a motion asks the court to hold the other party in contempt and to sanction them for violating the order. Frequently, courts will also order the offending party to reimburse you for your attorney's fees. We usually only need a $1,000 retainer deposit to prosecute a motion to enforce on your behalf.

Protective Orders ($1,000 flat fee)

Fair Price Lawyers will help you get a protective order or defend you against a protective order for a $1,000 flat fee.

All-Inclusive Mediation ($2000 flat fee)

Save thousands and skip the courtroom battle by having an attorney-mediator help you and the other parent or spouse come to a mediated agreement. Our all-inclusive mediation service includes up to an 8-hour mediation with an experienced Utah family law attorney acting as a neutral. Following a successful mediation, we also draft and file all the necessary paperwork to convert your agreement into a final, enforceable court order. Click here to learn more.

Contested vs. Uncontested

A matter is contested when the parties cannot agree regarding important matters that need to be decided, such as child custody, parent time, asset/debt division, child support, alimony. When you hire Fair Price Lawyers to represent you regarding a contested divorce, child custody/Support matter or a modification, we will handle all aspects of your case. We handle everything from beginning to end. As we perform work on your case, we will withdraw funds from your retainer deposit. You will receive periodic invoices showing what work has been done on your case and how much remains of your retainer deposit. Any funds remaining after work is completed on your case will be refunded to you. Not often, but sometimes, cases can be drawn out by either party and retainer funds are exhausted. If that happens, we will request an additional deposit of retainer funds.

A matter is considered uncontested when the parties have agreed on all the important matters that need to be decided. If you hire Fair Price Lawyers to represent you regarding uncontested matters, our attorneys will prepare and file all the necessary paperwork for your case and handle all contact with the court and the other party. However, we will not negotiate with the other party about the terms of the settlement agreement. We must charge a $200.00 hourly rate for doing so, as well as for any extensive consultations or meetings regarding your divorce beyond our initial interview. We will notify you before charging any additional fees.
