How do I respond to a divorce or child custody petition?
After being served with a divorce or child custody petition, the Respondent must file an answer to the petition or a motion challenging the petition on procedural grounds. The respondent has 21 days (if they were served in Utah) or 30 days (if they were served outside of Utah) to respond to the petition.
